Pizza Friday
Ratatouille🔗
I know it's not the normal cast of Ratatouille. But can we celebrate the end of summer by a colorful pizza in the gist of Ratatouille festivity anyywayy? We have the regular crew summer squash, irregular guest beetroot, and more irregular guest broccolini. I don't know why Ratatouille just sticks with me even though we are missing many key members. Maybe it's all circular slices arranged in circles on the bed of bright tomato sauce? Speaking of the sauce, it's final performance of our Sunday sauce from Spaghetti and Meatballs. Truth is I pre-reserved one pizza worth of sauce just for this. It suddenly occurs to me that Sunday sauce is the ultimate RightDown➘. It's born to be left over for many days to come.
Formula🔗
Sauce🔗
- Sunday sauce (recipe)
Topping🔗
- squash
- beetroot
- broccolini
Finish🔗
- grated parm
Evaluation🔗
Sunday sauce is definitely an upgrade from our regular red pizza sauce made of canned tomato sauce and some dried herbs. The toppings are seasonal veggies that pair well with tomato flavor. I really like the bright vibrant color of everything. It gives you a strong visual punch. So rad...red...
Demo🔗
Just as always, we made two of the same kind. Friday one with Sunday sauce, squash and beetroot. Saturday one with canned sauce and all three veggies. Both are super enjoyable.
Sunday sauce, I like the chunky tomatoes and beetroot greens as part of the sauce, more texture | round and round it goes | look at the rad red |
